Let the amount that Ricky(Tom?) should give to Vivian = x. Remaining amount of Ricky = 52 - x. New amount of Vivian = 44 + x. So (44 + x)/(52 - x) = 3. 44 + x = 156 - 3x4x = 156 - 44 = 112, so x = 112/4 = $28
