I've been going to the doctor now for about 3months for high blood pressure and elevated level of protein in my kidneys. And I got a call from my doctor today saying , my protein level dropped and when I come back in, I will do another lab, to see if I need to continue the meds I'm taking. I'm kinda nervous because I don't know all that much about the kidneys protein levels

It sounds like they are checking for elevated "microalbumin". That is usually caused by diabetes that has damaged the kidneys. It can also be caused by elevated blood pressure. You kidney are a filter for your blood. If the pressure in your blood vessels are too high in the kidney, larger particles are filtered out with the normals things that should be filtered out. Once the pressure goes down, proteins stop coming out. You can tell if the protein increases by looking at your urine in the toilet. Protein causes it to be frothy or make bubbles in the toilet. The fewer the bubbles, the better you are doing.

I assume you mean the protein that shows up in the urine. In this case a reduction of protein is a good thing.
