I'm looking to get either Comcast or AT&T for apartment. I want the cheapest monthly fee for ONLY internet. Who would have the better plan?

Comcast is outrageously expensive, but they do have the best internet. Just don't get roped into their TV package or triple play. You'll have to take out a second mortgage to pay your monthly fee.

Prices for internet access are usually based upon speed. Where I live AT&T only offers DSL service and is cheaper, but it is slower than what is provided through the cable company.

If those are the only two options, then it should be easy for you to find out - just call each one. The prices depend on where you live.

If you do not need speed, if AT&T has DSL in your area, the cheapest one will generally be less than cable (Comcast). Comcast publicly acknowledges that they don't intend to compete at the low end of the market. If AT&T has fiber in your neighborhood, it will probably be more expensive than cable.
