How do I travel at 17?

I’m working next summer at a vineyard 30 minuets out side of San Francisco and I will be 17, old enough to drive but not old enough to rent a car. I would love to explore the area but not bother the people I will be staying with (the vineyard owners). How do I get places like San Francisco or Yosemite for cheap?

I will assume you mean northern wine country. I live here and I avoid driving in the city at all costs. For a 17 year old newcomer it will be a nightmare. Trust me on this. Golden Gate Transit is the bus but I don't know how far north it goes. Napa, I guess. And to downtown SF. If you can get yourself to a few places in Marin there is the ferry. Yosemite is a solid day away. Most people consider that an overnight trip or you drive all day for an hour's visit and drive all night to return. Overnight requires reservations (yes, even camping) which in the summer are hard to come by.

We don't know where you will be... getting to SF from Napa will be different than getting to SF from Lodi.
Also, I don't know any wineries that are 30 minutes from SF at most times of the day.
Can you get to from Santa Rosa to SF in 30 minutes at 2am... but more like 2 hours on a thursday afternoon.

You can take uber, public trans, or shuttle buses between many wine areas to SF.

Share rides. Call uber.
Look at public transportation routes

Maybe you can share a ride with co workers.
