Step-mom keeps getting lice?

Step mom keeps getting head lice from grown step daughter and grandson. Step daughter is filthy and doesn't care how they look or smell. Step mom offered to help them get cleaned up and bug free but the following month it's right back to filth, then lice again. Dad gets mad at step mom for getting upset about head lice. Says it's not that big of a deal. Step mom is tired of getting tire of treating her own hair, getting shammed at the salon when she doesn't realize there are still some eggs in her hair. What can this family do? Please help.

Yes it is a big deal, it can hurt a lot. Get her to yell at the kids and clean them up. Lice is living, not fake.

Previous answers focus on how to get rid of lice, but I see this as a situation involving abuse and neglect, reportable to child protective authorities, if the kids in question are still minors. Reporting can be done anonymously. To know about this and to NOT report it , depending upon who you are, could be a violation making you accountable for a criminal act. This is unhealthy and neglectful, and SHOULD be reported, period.

Strange, if she's filthy then she wouldn't have lice that bad. They actually hate filth. Makes it hard to stay in the hair.

I had lice issues for a long time when I was younger (ppl wouldn't stop touching my hair without my permission).

When I started applying product and heat to my hair (hairdryer and especially flat iron) they suddenly went away aka died because I burned them to hell.

Wash all clothes and sheets at once. Bag items made of fabric such as cloth totebags, plushies, cloth headbands. Twist the bag tight and tie it arrived the twisted part. Or use weather proof storage boxes to store these items that may be infected. Keeps these stored away for a year I think (however long it takes for lice to starve to death.

Diatomaceous earth will be your new best friend. Dust that **** on everything including their hair. This dries out the shells of pests like lice, fleas, and bedbugs. Makes then molt faster which makes them weak and die faster, especially if theres no food.

She needs to delouse her house, and make sure everyone in the house uses lice shampoo to get rid of lice. Plus, throw away all combs and brushes and buy new ones and go to another beauty shop because lice tend to be carried by schoolchildren.

maybe everyone thats getting lice should shave their heads off and wear wigs for a while

Lice is more likely to get in clean hair than dirty hair. Their eggs cannot attach to oily hair as easily. Maybe your step-mom should stop being clean.
