Why does my wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects to laptop?

I recently got a new wifi network (AT&T U-verse i believe) and at first, it works pretty decently on my laptop, but the next day, it started randomly disconnecting. Every other piece of tech works just fine, and does not suffer from this issue, only my laptop. When i try to reconnect manually, it takes forever and sometimes says i can't, and i have to wait for it to connect automatically (which takes so much time). It is now at the point where it only stays connected for a few seconds, before disconnecting for minutes. I've tried updating, and almost every method besides uninstalling, and nothing is working. I know this isn't a network issue, as every other device works fine, and my laptop connected perfectly with my passed router. So whats the problem?

You may be getting interference from neighbouring wireless signals.
1)Change the broadcast channel on the router to channel to a less congested one than the current. You can download netstumbler or inssider (google them) and they will display the broadcast channels of any neighbouring wifi networks

2)Turn off any baby alarms cordless phones wireless doorbells as these use the same 2.4Ghz frequency

3)Update the firmware of the router and drivers for your PC/laptop
