Terrible tooth pain when I drink anything cold?
I have been having this problem for only about a week now and it seems to have gotten a lot worse in that time. There is this one tooth in the back bottom right that hurts insanely when i drink cold water or eat icecream or anything like that. I have had braces for a few years now too. Someone suggested that the metal might
be cold causing the tooth to be cold, but ALL my teeth have metal and ive never had this issue before. I have a problem where my teeth on the sides have gum growth almost to where they touch the braces, but my ortho had never said anything about that so i assumed it could either be fixed or wasnt a big issue. But maybe thats whats causing it on that one tooth? Idk... id love opinions.

Could be a cavity. It would help if you went to the dentist, hon.
Somehow the tooth root is exposed. That can happen in several different ways: a cavity, receding gum line, excessive pressure on the tooth from a misaligned bite, soft enamel, etc. The only way to know is to see a dentist. The correct treatment could be as simple as sanding down the bite, or using a sensitivity toothpaste, or as complicated as a root canal. One this is for sure: it won't get better on its own.
"gum growth almost to where they touch the braces" ... that's inflammation. That likely means that you don't have great oral hygiene. Going off that, you may have cavities. You need to bring this up with your dentist.
