Normally getting 'fired' means you did something to get fired and unemployment consider that as your fault and you don't get unemployment as it is classed as you made yourself unemployed deliberately ........ however you would need to check this directly with your local unemployment office as there are exceptions to that rule

You can collect unemployment for the days you don't work. Make sure you report the number of days and your earnings when you recertify each week

You have to be terminated from a job to get it at all, not a voluntary quit. So it makes no sense you wouldn't get it if discharged. In cases of Sexual harassment, they flatly deny it. Not most other cases.

I've gotten it for being discharged. Depends on state, though. It is only 1/2 normal wage for 30 days. Unless Union, they get more.

I've even appealed denial of eligibility and won. It does happen.

To answer you, you'd have to contact your local EDD. They may have a money or hours worked limitation, or reduce your payments somewhat.

If you get FIRED you get NO unemployment, Darkness...

If you get fired you CAN'T collect. Unemployment is for people who lose their job due to no fault of their own.

You don't collect UI form an employer. You collect it from the state who taxes your employers.

You only receive UI if you are terminated for a reason that isn't your fault.

If you do receive UI you report earnings each week and your UI check is reduced.
