Why when falling asleep do I hear noises?
Sometimes when falling asleep i hear noises, things like cars or planes or music that i have never heard

Because you require quiet to sleep and those noises may annoy you. Also, people often sleep at night, suppose you do, and your neighbours do too, there's no noise around you at night, that's how you can hear noise farther then during day time.
