Liking someone happens all the time and usually because we admire them.
Love takes time, maybe even years to develop. Love and maturity go hand in hand because when you're really in love and they're in love with you, you both work together and do whatever it takes to make it work.
Here's a cute video you might like to see how it's illustrated and the difference between infatuation and love.
Enjoy :)

If you understand the next sentence, you love them. "I hope my beloved dies first."

Liking is usually superficial and you like what they allow you to see about them. Usually people wear a mask and they show you what they want you to see.
Love is harder and not as fun. Love is realizing that people are flawed beings and loving them despite those flaws.
