What are you checking the CPU temps with? Have you tried a different program to make sure the one you used is reliable? Or checking in the BIOS would help too. Leaving a computer overheating would cause problems like you're describing.
Otherwise maybe checking if the BIOS needs updated, but be careful with that, it's not something to do impulsively or you will ruin your computer.
Have you tried disabling sleep/hibernation? This would tell you if the problem is a function of sleep/hibernation, or just bcause the computer is left idle.
It sounds like perhaps there's a problem with the USB ports. I would go about troubleshooting the USB ports first. Remove all USB connections other than the most basic ones, like mouse and keyboard. I would then try to move the mouse and keyboard to other USB ports. Between each one, I would manually try to put the computer to sleep, rather than waiting for it timeout. See if the problem keeps happening.
Another possibility is that the system is not getting enough power, so suggest keeping a power supply replacement as an option.
You better check your motherboard
i suspect this is an issue with the mobo's BIOS. It occurs with other brands as well. That leads me to suspect Intel is the problem, not Asus nor Windows.
No idea if/when it will be fixed and the fix is probably going to require downloading a file and flashing the BIOS.
