In Stark Raving Dad, the Simpsons episode, as Michael Jackson emerged from the car one of the characters says "He s white!" Even though at the time the episode was being produced and was released the real Michael Jackson had already become white a few years ago... So why was she so shocked?

There's been a lot written about that episode. Lots of people have theories.
The joke was that the whole town was expecting Michael Jackson but instead this big white dude gets out of the car. Normally someone would say 'That's not Michael Jackson!' or 'That doesn't look like Michael Jackson!' But the person yells 'He's White!' because that's funnier, since the real Michael Jackson could have been mistaken for a white person. It's a joke. It's not so funny if you have to explain it.
