I m allergic to them, but as a vegan, a lot of recipes that I want to make call for them. For example, I want to make a spinach soup that calls for avocado- which is imperative to the soup s texture. However, being allergic, I of course can t use one. Is there any other vegetable or savory whole food I could use instead? Maybe even a puréed version of something else?
Avocado generally doesn't change the texture of a soup, rather the taste of it. If it is supposed to make it creamier, try using some dried potato flakes.
