which alkyne positive test with tollen reagent?
A) but-2-yne
B) 2-methyl pent-1-yne
C) 2,2-dimethyl hex-3-yne
D) hex-2,3-yne need your help?
回答 (1)
Tollens' reagent can be used to test for terminal alkynes (RC≡CH). A white precipitate of the acetylide (RC≡CAg) is formed in this case.
Although B) (CH₃CH₂CH₂C(CH₃)≡CH) is a terminal alkyne, it does NOT exist. This is because the C atom at position 2 has 5 covalent bonds, and this is impossible.
A) (CH₃C≡CCH₃) and C) (CH₃C(CH₃)₂C≡CCH₂CH₃) are NOT terminal alkynes.
D) is a wrong name. No structure can be drawn by means of this name.
Hence, there is NO ANSWER.
