i'm a bit clueless... was he flirting?

I was hanging out with my friends at a fencing tournament over the weekend and a guy came over to me and I can't tell if he was flirting with me or not. I was a little apart from my friends and we were all on our phones and this guy came over to me and told me I look just like his friend. Then told me his name and asked me what my name was. I told him my name and then he shook my hand and said something like nice to meet you. After that he asked my friends as a group where we were from (national tournament) and one of my friend s answered. He then asked us whether we had fenced yet and I told him we all had that morning and he asked how we did. I said I was injured so not as good as I would have hoped and he made a joke about how everyone gets injured. I don't remember how exactly the conversation ended, but that was about it.

Was he just being friendly or was he trying to flirt with me? I couldn't exactly tell, especially since he looked a little older than me (I'm still in high school). My friends though he was flirting with and teased me saying I should go ask him for his snapchat. So... help? I'm a little clueless about these things...
