Hi there, two years ago my parents thought it would be nice if I got dual citizenship. One for U.S.A and one For Mexico. They kept my U.S.A birth certificate and told me that they were gonna send it to Hall Of Records or something like that. I was much younger at the time so I didn't understand but my parents were fine with it. I still have my new I.D but I'm not sure if they will give me a hard time to go back to my state or even allow me to. Will they let me?

A US state-issued ID is not proof of US citizenship. It is not even proof of legal residency as several US states give them to unauthorized immigrants. All US citizens aged 16 or older are required to present their valid US passports at the border. Citizens attempting to cross without one are sent to secondary inspection to wait for hours or even days while their identity and citizenship status are verified.

Birth certificates are not "sent" to hall of records, bureau of vital statistics, etc. Unless you are holding currently valid US passport & Mexican passport to prove you hold citizenship in each country, it is entirely possible that your parents have deceived you & you were/are illegal alien in US & do not have any US birth certificate. Millions of illegal alien parents have LIED to their children, and they are not US-born but identity-theft children, just as illegal as the parents who smuggled them into US.
First, make your parents tell you the TRUTH & produce your original birth certificate, passport, documentation. If they fail to produce, they are LIARS, deceivers.

No, you can't every US citizen Including those with dual citizenship is required to leave and enter the US on their US passport.
