Is this debt still on my credit report?

I had an outstanding cable of like $300 from 2014 I never paid it. And it's been 3 years now and I noticed on my credit report that it was gone. Does this mean they dropped the bill and I'm free of it now? It was only for cable with like 3 months remaining but due to late charges made it $300. Help?

If the default is not on your your credit report, I suggest you leave well enough alone

check other credit companies, the one you might be using may not have the same information
it is not likely that a $300 bill only 3 yrs old is written off

The cable company may have sold your debt to a debt collector. Then it might reappear. A debt never goes away, it just goes into hibernation until someone resurrects it.

Of you owe the money you should pay it. Any bad debt should stay on your credit report for 7 years.

It does not mean they dropped the bill. It does not mean you are free of it now.

The only thing that it means is that it is not on THIS one of your credit reports. (It might still be on your other credit reports.)
