Why are people so against second chances?
its like you screw up once and you're done. I don't understand why people are like this. Maybe I just haven't been hurt enough to get it

Relationships last until they don't. And if you' re talking about getting back together with someone... well.. why do you want to re-play the tape of the old mess? it's not like anything will permanently change if you get back together. it might be ok for a week or two, and then there you are --- back in the same shitty shLt mess.
Most people don't change when it comes to dating.
It's not worth trying again if the person already had hurt you or broke your heart.
If they didn't break your heart and you just decided it was for the best, then I guess a second chance is okay... but the reason why you left them demonstrates how the person isn't right for you in the beginning.
I feel like when you find your true soulmate, you wouldn't even think about leaving them in the first place. That's why I'm against second chances. My ex had hurt me and if he decides he wants to be with me in the future (which he admitted he will), I'll say no. Why be with someone who left me in the first place? And if this person cheated on you or treated you like sh*t, they don't deserve anything from you.
參考: My opinion
Some people believe "once burned, twice learned." The twice refers to having made a mistake and making sure you never repeat it. Others are more flexible. If you find one of them for yourself, you won't be concerned about those who don't take a chance on making the same mistake again.
If somebody hurts you, then you don't want to give this person a second chance to hurt you again.
There is a saying, "Burned once is warned twice."
Second chances is something people are willing to give you, only when you try your best and fail without hurting anyone. But if you betray other people's trust or hurt them in some way, then it doesn't make sense for them to give you a second chance to do something like this again.
