Thinking of moving to Chicago?

I am 21 and live in Colorado but am getting fed up with all the new people moving here, normally I wouldn't mind at all but I'm trying to find a home with a friend of mine and the rent prices are now outrageous compared to a few years ago. My friend suggested Chicago but I've never been. It seems like a great fit and rent prices seem to be amazingly priced! What is it like there? Is the rent competition really high? And is it possible to find a job quickly? I have no college education so I'd be looking for a simple/basic job. Anything I should know for considering? Thanks so much!!

Chicago is FAR more expensive a place to live than Colorado, Sweetie...

The average rent in Colorado is $1,039 a month; https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=average+rent+in+colorado

It is the most dangerous city in the US and people are moving out. It will be a culture shock for you after Colorado. The cheap rents are in the dangerous parts of town.

You need to really research Chicago! Crime rate, that's not a place to relocate if you know nothing about and have no job there. But do your research

Have a mechanically solid safe paid off minivan to live in first.
That's ALL u can afford at minimum wage.
