Thank you all for your help. But according to the solution, the answer is B and this is the given explanation: 2x+x = 360 – 120 => 3x = 240 = > x = 80 I don't understand how x=80 or how they even put together the equation to figure that out

The answer is D, because not enough information is given to answer the question.

D) => answer

What we see, in your picture, is a circle with centre at P, tangent to the x-axis and the y-axis.
(therefore the (x, y) position of P will have the same value for x as it does for y)

It appears that the circle extends to x=1 (at the same level as point P) and to y=1.
This would imply that the radius is 0.5
and that the point P is at (x, y) = (0.5, 0.5) or (1/2, 1/2) -- same thing.

In the box, under the drawing, there is a heading "QuantityA" with a symbol "x" under it, and another heading "QuantityB" with a "90" under it.

We have no idea what "QuantityA" means (and no idea about QuantityB either).
Therefore it is impossible, for us, to make sense of choices A, B and C in the answers (where we need to compare QuantityA with QuantityB).

Chances are they are asking you about the x and y coordinates of point P.
If so, and if the curve is a circle tangent to both axes, then the x and y coordinates of P are equal.
Reason: all radii of a circle have the same length.

(but why wouldn't the question say that it is asking about P and P is center of a circle tangent to both axes???)

Oh, now I see, there is a not enough information choice.

TERRIBLE QUESTION (not yours, but whoever asked it of you).

I don't understand how x=80 or how they even put together the equation to figure that out.
