I saw a show not so long ago and it wasn't from Tasmania but they were reports of Thylacine which managed to survive just north of the island on the Australian mainland. The guy even had a good video. With the footprints and video, it seemed quite possible that some managed to stay alive. Perhaps if they haven't managed to survive, they will be able to use their DNA and artificially recreate them using Tasmanian devils as the proxie mothers.

Unfortunately ALL the sightings have been unconfirmed. It's not looking good.

There are occasional reports but no confirmed sighting since the last know specimen died in Hobart zoo in the 1930s.
