What's a better graduate degree to pursue?

I finished undergrad with a 3.23 GPA in electrical engineering/physics double major. Before I finished, I took an engineering internship. But what really feels more satisfying to me is a graduate degree.

I've been weighing out the pros and cons of MS and PhD. MS seems safer, but not as expansive intellectually as a PhD. I want to be able to do R&D (research new tech and develop it) and have a nice balance between theoretical and hands-on science and engineering.

So MS or PhD? Be as detailed as possible.

If you want to do any of your own research, you'll need a PhD. I'm not sure how selective doctorate programs are for that field, so your GPA may be a bit on the low side, but if that's the case, you could consider doing a Master's program to get a higher transfer GPA.

I think you will need an MS before you try for a Phd.

You're going about it backwards...
You need to decide what JOB you want first... and then pursue the educational path that will facilitate that choice.
Do NOT pick a "major" or a degree, only to HOPE you can find a job someday.
