what order should you watch the star wars films?

You left out 7, which comes at the end after 3. That was the order in which they were made, but not necessarily the order in which you should watch them. If you don't mind the drastic difference in special effects/technology and tone, you can really watch them either way; in order of when they were produced, or chronologically so that the story progresses in time in the usual way. I saw them in the order in which they were made, as you wrote them above.
