How do you say in Chinese: In _ year I started collaborating with _ translation office, working as a translator from English to French. ?
My current guess is: 在_年我开始与翻译事务所_合作, 给他们把英文翻译为法文。

✔ 最佳答案
1.Without reference to your English sentence, the sentence “给他们把英文翻译为法文” is needed to make a small change. Just to change the word “给” to “帮” would make the sentence proper in most (may be all) situations. Because “给” means “give”, and ”帮” means “help”, and ”给他们” means something is given to them, and you could see they get nothing. They help someone do the job, so “help(帮)” would be proper in this situation.
2.After reading your English sentence, yes, to change the word “给”to “帮”match the meaning of your sentence.
3. As how do we say “translator from English to French” in Chinese, we normally say “英文翻译为法文的翻译員”.
4.Basically, the meaning of “翻译員” and ”翻译人員” is same. Here in Taiwan, when we refer to a title of someone’s job, “人” is not needed. But when you’re referring to the people who work as a translator, I think to use “翻译人員” is better than “翻译員”.
5.Oh, I know “译員” is a term used in China. In Taiwan we use “翻譯員” , “翻譯人員”. We don’t use “译員” – so simplified!
