Whitney was technically a great singer, the energy of Celine surpasses anything else. TV talent shows have singers that can belt it out of the park BUT you and I both know that you can't fake soul and heart felt emotion in music.

Whitney, as a man there is not a lot of female vocalist I like purely because of their voice but Whitney was one of the rare few. Too bad she got into drugs, it eventually wore down her voice and she couldn't hit the high & long notes she use to hit.

They were (and are) both excellent, but the comparison is a bit pointless as they sing different genres of music. Celine would be compared to someone like Streisand; Whitney would be compared to someone like Jennifer Hudson Were I to answer your question as is, I would say Celine Dion generally has the better voice; Whitney was fantastic in her prime, but had a tendency to belt everything, and she lost her pipes when the pipe took over her life. Make no mistake: I loved them both, as millions of others did and still do...

This question is VERY hard.....I loved both their voices.........I will HAVE to go with Celine Dion because she can sing about ANYTHING, she was NOT better than Whitney........Celine just takes her voice to all ranges. She can sing Chers songs and that is something too.......Cher has a great voice also!!

Depends on who's listening but if someone doesn't prefer a soulful r n b voice they will say celine but between the 2 ill say whitney however there are and were better singers than the both of them such as vesta Williams, keke Wyatt, chaka Khan, lisa fischer etc. Whitney could sing yes but she is far from the best and celine isn't that great in my opinion she is boring to me.

I think Celine has a better vocal range, singing things that Whitney might not have been able to.
