If a friend calls me boo, is it romantic?

A friend called me boo and I looked it up to see if it was romantic or not, but I didn't see anything suggesting it is not romantic. Does it mean my friend likes me romantically? I don't want to make the situation weird by asking in case it is just a truly close term of endearment for me.

It does sound like a term of endearment. I worked with a girl who's nickname as a child was Boo.
