Questions about buying a Mustang?

I'm in need of a few opinions if anyone who has or had a mustang could answer for me. I'm talking to 2 different dealership about a mustang. Both are 2017 mustang. I know everyone is going to say go with a V8 but I'm taking a v6 because I'm saving a decent bit of money. Plus it'll be 300 up and my car right now is pushing a whopping 135 (Its a 13 corolla lol) So 300 is more then enough for me. Heres the problem I'm facing though. They are both exactly the same except for 2 things. Ones Lightining blue, and the other is charcoal grey. The blue one is automatic, and the grey is manual. I have never owned a manual before, but I drive semi trucks where I work as a mechanic. Should I go with the auto or manual? I think the auto looms nicer, but everyone keeps putting me down on getting even though their not paying for it and if feel a lot safer with it. What's your opinion? Am I making a mistake? Any opinions would be Great! Thanks!

if you are driving around the city a lot, get a automatic. big cities or heavy traffic kill manuals quick. If you are just going to use it for fun, get a manual and with practice you will do just fine

If you can swing the extra $1000 get the Ecoboost, much more potential for modding. And you can get the factory performance package, which (like many options) is not offered on the V6. As far as the transmission goes, I'd go with the manual, but that's just my opinion, the performance difference isn't much these days between the automatic and manual, it's just a matter of personal preference.

Hi the only mistake being a mechanic is the old toyota corolla has been super reliable. unlike any Ford be it a V8 or a V6 they are not as reliable as this old Toyota as you will find out. so it really is a no brainer with the Mustangs about the same with each. You will miss the reliability of the Corolla.

The V6 has lots of power, and the automatic will do everything better and more consistently. I would buy the manual , but that would be to please myself. If you are happy with the automatic , do not buy a manual to impress your so-called friends.

Manuals keep you involved in driving, much the same way you are when you drive truck. The difference in acceleration is only a couple of tenths and the fuel economy for both trannies is good when coupled with the V6.
Given the choice, I always go for the manual.

If you don't drive a manual, it's gonna be a pain to drive at first. You probably won't enjoy it as much too.
