Grammar and the colon?
When the world is gelid with the fury of the heavens you perforate, as the sun, through the dense canvas. A single ray alleviating the icy pressure of the world from the pit of my stomach extending across my skin: You warm me
Is this correct use of a colon.

I would not capitalise 'you' after the colon.
A colon instead of a semicolon may be used between independent clauses when the second sentence explains, illustrates, paraphrases, or expands on the first sentence. In this sort of case you punctuate as you would with a semicolon.
If it's poetry, you can take liberties.
