How many moles of UF6 would have to be decomposed to provide enough fluorine to prepare 5.76 mol of CF4? (Assume sufficient carbon is available).

2 moles of UF₆ and 3 moles of CF₄ contains the same number of moles (12 moles) of F atoms.
Hence, mole ratio UF₆ : CF₄ = 2 : 3

(Number of moles of UF₆) : (5.76 mol) = 2 : 3
(Number of moles of UF₆) × 3 = (5.76 mol) × 2
Number of moles of UF₆ = (5.76 mol) × (2/3) = 3.84 mol
