I have to write a short story for English class about a time I felt ashamed, yet i'm struggling to think of a time. Does anyone have a scinaro for me?

Trumps election made me ashamed to call myself an American. It shames me that nearly 50% of the people are hopelessly pinheaded, backwards, redneck, deliberately blind idiots filled with venom and hysteria.
