Some organic food is truly organic and some is not, And some produce that states it is organic is not as important as other produce -- Such as Organic berries is more important that lets say organic melon (because of the melon's thick skin)
Both. I think in basic single-food ingredients (produce, meats, dairy, etc.) if it says organic it is truly following the rules. Once you get to processed and heavily processed foods, it can be very questionable labeling and definitely just used as a marketing ploy.
