I am studying chinese and often in movies i hear something like "jin kuei". Could somebody tell me the correct spelling of the word?

from context it should mean something like damn it!

見(means see, pronounced “jian”, forth tone )鬼(means ghost, pronounced “kuei”, third tone)
This is a spoken phrase used when someone sees something that is totally illogical, absurd or ludicrous.
For example, if you stayed at home all day last Sunday, and you got a speeding ticket from the Police Department saying you drove on the freeway last Sunday (Ex: Someone used a fake placard with your car plate number), you might say “Jin Kuei”.
