The rules, but mostly the structure and lack of ability to pursue your own academic interests. I'm speaking of k-12, but I think after you receive primary education (k-8), I think you should have more say in the subjects you want to study, and I think by 16 you should be able to enroll in different academic or trade programs that suit your future interest. They fail in teaching you problem-solving skills, which is a life skill, but also what most employers are looking for in this day and age. In other words, the education sucks and they don't prepare you for your future.
In college, I also hated the structure. Being forced to take general education courses, and then being forced to take more pre-req classes for your major is a huge waste of time. 100 level courses generally don't give you much knowledge, so I view them as just ways for universities to pick your pockets. Most of my general education courses just tested memory - I didn't actually learn or gain knowledge until I was able to take upper level classes pertaining to my interests. And obviously cost of tuition and books is ridiculous, but that's a bit more political.
When I was in school, my classmates were by far the worst thing ever. Due to all the fights I ended up in, I think it's safe to say I was incredibly lucky to make it out of there alive.
Some of the kids were mean.
Getting bullied. I had a hard time in school and I had depression over it but that was many many years ago and the mental pain is somewhere still inside me which comes and goes. That was in primary school when I was a child. I am 34 now and moving on.
that I had to go every day and what a drag it was most all of the time. 99% of the teachers I had throughout school where very boring I guess back in the day when I grew up they taught you listened and that was the extent of it. I will tell you the more interesting the teacher can make a subject the more you want to pay attention Isn't that true about anything you make it interesting easier to understand (piece it all together) that'll keep you interested and learning
My classmates, my teachers, and the food was awful.
The people. I was always bullied for every little thing.
The bullsh*t popularity factor
Tomato
Teachers telling us to put our phones away and telling us not to talk and that we can't study together in study hall
For me, it was the fact that it felt like it was overtaking my life, and I couldn't focus on anything else. Only after graduating high school did I get my driver's license, start dating, get a job, etc.
it was a waste of gas money. if we couldve passed by taking the stupid efficiency tests or homework by mail, what is the point of kids having to go to school? parents spend so much money on absolutely nothing except having a kid. its a waste of tax money too.
to top it off, almost EVERY assignment i had, required materials my parents had to pay for in order for me to do it. i dont understand that? youre forcing kids to go to school... but expecting low income families to supply more money for their kids to go?
The cliques and social rules.
