I have a regular cab truck, there's a couple subs i can get for cheap. Except they are not shallow mount, can i still fit them into my truck in a different box?

Why in the hell would you wanna get cheap subs?

Get a badass Sundown Audio X-12 and a quality box. You'll be bumping hard down the street and you'll be rocking your body back and forth.

The volume of the cabinet is more important, so get out your ruler and work out the dimensions. If it fits, it fits. If you can't build a cabinet that will go in your truck, make other speaker choices. Look in "the12volt.com" for some subwoofer enclosure ideas.

Not really. Even the wedge shaped boxes require the seats to be pretty far forward. Pass on the subs and get some shallow mounts.

How could anyone make an educated guess here w/o at least knowing what truck you have? Even then, we d have to know how much space there is behind the seat in that particular truck -- or find one and measure it.

Then we d have to know specifically what subs you re considering. Then we d have to know or look up the mounting depth for that sub.

At that point one would have to determine the minimum depth of a box that would be adequate for that sub THEN it could be determined whether or not that sub would be feasible for use behind your seat.

These are all things that you can answer better than any of us.

C mon folks. SOME questions just require a LITTLE bit of thought.
