After juicing veggies I have vegetable pulp. What effect would it have on my septic system if I flush the pulp into it?

Bad results. Septic systems are not garbage disposal systems. They are for urine and feces. They can handle some toilet paper, but not too much. Food is a definite no-no. It will not decompose as the other solids do and will clog the leach field, causing expensive damage.

In some respects, a septic system is like our digestion: if it's fiber that passes through the body, the septic can't digest it either.

Of course, some soft matter is harmless. Our septic service says to NOT use the garbage disposer/septic for any uncooked vegetable matter including things like flower stems & plants. The worst: coffee grounds, fibrous stems like asparagus, "husks" such as corn cob, coconut "hair" etc. If such things don't clog your pipes, they will at least accumulate in the tank and hasten when it will need pumping. We were told that think of the garbage disposer as just a way to pulverize the bits of food rinsed off the dishes so the septic can reduce them quickly.

Good news: what isn't good for the septic is probably good for the compost pile !

Without the pulp, you might as well be drinking soda. Use the pulp in other recipes. It is actually the best part of the fruit for you.
