If returning to Hong Kong is not possible, then the parents/guardians must prepare the application for the child in Hong Kong.
Once the application is made ready, the parents/guardians mail everything to the child, so that the child can apply through Chinese Embassy/Consulate in Australia.

居住在海外的香港特區居民，可直接遞交續領申請至香港特別行政區入境事務處，也可親自到駐當地的中國使領館遞交申請。
