Is it possible for a woman to 'hold in' a baby when labour begins instead of giving birth?

You can hold back pushing but that baby is going to come out when it's ready whether you like it or not.
No, when it's coming it will come. There's no stopping it.
No ... and u defo won't wanna hold it in when the time comes either I'll be preying it comes out quicker lol
No way. Your body pushes wether you want to or not.
No. They tried to get me to wait until the doctor was there with our youngest daughter, but there was no way. It's like a force.
I have never heard of such a thing happening. Anyway, the baby will not "fade away" - it is in there and wants to get out, it will not disappear.
No. Childbirth is a positive feedback system. There is no control over it.
Yes it is and it causes the baby to be deprived of oxygen and causes brain damage. Not a good idea
by being tense, im sure you can slow down the process...ive always tried to stay relaxed when in labor so as not to slow it down. my longest labor was my first at 7 1/2 hrs. but no, it is still going to come out eventually.
No, it is not. Your body moves along with the process whether you are ready or not. However, if your water breaks and you go into labor, you don't automatically start pushing? Some labors are quicker than other but most cases you are not dilated enough yet.
Not possible, if they don't push you can maybe slow down the delivery process but once those contractions start you want it out as soon as possible as you will be screaming in pain - thankfully I got epidural
Try holding in a bowel movement for 2 hours past the time you feel you have to drop a deuce badly. That's how easy it would be to do.
