A word for new home renovation?

I'm looking for the correct word for doing work in an apartment/house. Most housing comes with pre-build paint/floors but when an apartment has nothing in it and you want to start working on it. I'm looking for that word?

Renovation or remodel? I'm not sure what you mean by nothing in it. Are you saying the kitchen has no cabinetry and there are no sinks, toilets or fixtures of any kind?

Interior finishing. You're talking about a new construction with no drywall, no flooring, no doors, right?
