I have MS Works. When I make a document and then try to open it at work or some other place with Office, it will not work. What can I convert it to so that it will be compatible ?
I do not have MS Office, but I do have Open Office and Libre Office.

The free LibreOffice Writer will open Word and Works documents that Word will not. Open and save in doc format or any format that you wish.

Works is obsolete - it won't support modern document formats. Use Open Office or Libre Office to create your documents and save them as .doc or .docx.

If you have legacy documents saved in Works format, then you'll need to export them as rtf or txt (which will lose most of the formatting).

Can you open the document in Libre Office? If so, you can save it in MS Office compatible form.

Can Works export as "Rich Text" (.rtf)?

Most word processors should be able to import that.
