I have the same problem... but it's okay to feel that way, you just need to face your fears and DO IT!
What always helps me when I get nervous to talk whether it be on the phone, in person, etc is the fact that in a couple days the people won't even remember what you said so why should you worry so much? Take deep breaths if it helps before you call and pick up the phone and dial in the number here's what you possibly could say:
"Hello. I was wondering if I was able to get a appointment for Thursday to get my hair colored?"
DONE. see easy now .breathe. everything's gonna be alright.
You could also use the same method above but talk to them face to face if it's easier for you to do.
