Explain the importance of artificial selection in the derivation of the concept of natural selection?

Artificial selection is the intentional breeding of desirable traits in domesticated animals and plants. Charles Darwin noticed that humans deliberately selected which organisms to breed, so he applied this process to species in the wild. Instead of human hands guiding the changes in the outward appearance of species, the unguided process of natural selection would account for the heritable variation in species.
