Best website for news (American-based)?

So I just want to keep up with the what s happening around the world and I don t have TV at the moment, and don t want to get my news from social media.
I d like some American based news website that is reliable and just like a news paper basically.
I don t live in an English speaking country, therefore our news papers aren t in English.
