Any thoughts on Coast Guard duty stations that are great places to live? I had Miami, Georgia, and San Diego in mind.?

Most people have those same places in mind, and while you can request whatever, you ultimately go where assigned. Not everyone gets warm and sunny. Out of boot camp, you can only request a general area. For example, if you requested the area that includes Miami, you could just as likely end up in Puerto Rico, and that means you got exactly what you wanted. If not, could be anywhere.

See a recruiter to learn more and good luck!

You're comparing 2 cities to a State so that's difficult. San Diego is great but VERY expensive so unless you're at least an E4 or got a lot of money in the bank it will be hard for you to do anything.

You obviously are looking at warmer climates so just be prepared to go somewhere cold. You go where you are needed and often it can be a small town not a big one.
