Doctor trainee hurt my ear with otoscope and magically a week later i noticed a crackling sound. Did she cause this?

Doc told me she was a trainee, then she jabbed my ear, i jumped away and yelped, then said "thats the only ear i can hear out of so lets be more careful" and then she did it again. A week later when it was really quiet i was woken up and noticed my ear now has a crackling sound (like a broken or low quality tweeter/speaker) every second sometimes. Did the doc mess my ear up or did something else magically happen at the same time? I need to rely on hearing (and my ability to sleep) for my job and my health and life so this is pretty important. Im feeling like im about to go columbine cause im so pissed and irritated and fatigued from lack of sleep due to the sound. This is not just a matter of my ear, its a matter of my mental stability and me not wanting to feel the need to destroy the planet. Does this sound like something i could expect if some klutz pushed something into my ear?

How can i get my doc to take it seriously and do the scans needed for a solid legal case? I cant say "hey a doc pushed this into my ear and now my hearing is damaged" cause the docs protect one another.

It's unlikely that the doctor damaged your ear, unless she forced the otoscope in with considerable force, which I doubt. Has anybody looked at your ear since the crackling has started?

There may have been some minor damage to the canal and it ha become a little inflamed, but this will settle within a few days to a week. It is unlikely there has been damage to the eardrum, but if there is this will be visible on otoscopy. There will not have been permanent damage to your hearing, because to do this you would have to damage the inner ear (behind the eardrum), which you literally cannot reach with an otoscope.

Sadly there are no scans that you can request that will show damage to the ear canal. Any problem that you have with your ear (or indeed anywhere) should be taken seriously by any doctor, however I don't think you would have a legal case.

Best wishes.

Ctackling in the ear is cause by wax over the eardrum. This is easily syringed out by a Nurse or Doctor.
Stop being dramatic.
