No. That's the point. ChromeCast adds many of the features of a Smart TV to a non-Smart HDTV. Your TV just needs to have a HDMI port.

No. That would actually be redundant. A SmartTV can do most of what a ChromeCast can do. That is meant for "dumb" TVs.

No. Chromecast essentially brings those features to a standard TV, much like an Apple TV, Roku, etc.

No, that is what chromcast is for. Giving you access to apps that a smart TV would have built in.
