What the fuck is wonder bread? I'm from New Zealand and I always see Americans talk about or using "wonder bread" whats so special?

In the 70ties they had tiptop bread over here:) (netherlands)
It was populair for a while
but now i have not seen it in decades

its just really cheap sliced sandwich bread. when it came out decades ago it probly was pretty wonderful! it is not by any means high quality bread
