Why does it feel like each religion only wants to defy everything that does not agree with it?

I personally had formerly identified as an atheist, not associating with any religion, and I am not saying i'm starting to lean towards one belief or another, and I still do not want to associate with any religion because it feels like they all just want to disprove atheists, and people of other religions. I'm not a "anti- theist" as one person had put it. I'm just a confused person who does not want to spread hate and does not want to be a part of something that promotes disrespecting beliefs.

Why does it feel like each religion only wants to defy everything that does not agree with it--

You're talking about Christianity, where it is necessary to deny all known history, science, and logic in order to defend the nonsense in the Bible.

Because they all have been crafted with a defence mechanism to attempt to shoot down questioning. But not in my day and age.

Everyone thinks that what they believe is correct (otherwise they wouldn't believe it). The logical default therefore is that everyone in disagreement must be incorrect. This is true of every belief system (including the non-religious ones).

In a truly free democracy, everyone (including people across the entire spectrum of belief) is entitled to promote their values through the democratic process.

What you "feel" is people with values antagonistic to yours trying to do what they have every democratic right to do - as do you when you contest things that don't agree with your views.

Did you include atheism in that question?

Religion aspect aside; most atheists of the anti-theist stripe seem to want to defy those who do not agree with them on a good number of points.

**I** don't know.
It's YOUR feeling.
Shouldn't you be the one person who knows?

it sure does, but there are valid points against atheism and against evolution

Not all of them. My religion doesn't believe in imposing our beliefs on others, we don't care that people disagree with us.

I think you have the principle right though I am not sure about your wording.
Each religion believes it has the truth. That is the nature of religions.
They make up their own rules and beliefs about their own gods, prophets and rituals but these differ between every religion.
These conflicting dogmas create barriers between each religion and everyone else who does not share their views. Religions can only create rifts in society.
The crazy thing is that not one religion in the whole world has any objective evidence to back it up. They are all make believe, yet they get their panties in a twist if anyone disagrees with them.
Some even claim a special right to have their unjustified religious beliefs reflected in law, such as the law on abortion.
If only one religion is right, all the rest must be wrong.
As it stands, there is no evidence that even one is right.
