Is it really hard to move out? UK?

I'm turning 18 in a month and my dad said I have to find a job and move out because I decided to not go to university.
I know nothing about renting a house/paying bills etc. And I can't ask my dad because he's an asshole and we hate each other.
So how do I do it? Anything important I have to keep in mind? How much money should I save up?

It's more expensive to live alone than you think.

To move out, you need:
- a job (paying at least 2-3 x rent a month)
- savings (enough to pay for the deposit and first months rent up front)

At 18, you're likely to also need a guarantor, which could be an issue if you're not getting on with your dad.

You can't claim housing benefit for a place of your own at 18; the most you'll get (and in some council areas you won't get anything) is the cost of a room in a shared house or flat. This is going to be your most affordable and realistic option, irrelevant of whether or not you get benefits.

Very difficult, you need to look in the papers for rooms to rent and find yourself a job.

Yes it will be hard, you will need to look at rent and room in someones home as at 18 yrs old it will be near impossible to find a landlord willing to rent to an 18yr old
