READING is no help.
DOING is what helps.
WEEKS of practice are not enough. You need to practice for YEARS
Yes. What's wrong is that you have no natural talent at drawing. That's life.
Take a drawing class at your local community college.
There are plenty of free drawing tutorials on the internet. But most of all, practice, practice, practice. Drawing well can be a natural talent, but it's also very much a skill ANYONE can learn. Try the grid system (look it up), or try inverting your subject.
Look up the website Draw A Box! It has a lot of very good exercises that build up basic skills. Do those- and don't rush! You won't learn anything if you rush through them. They seem kind of boring at first, but if you jump right ahead to the later, more complicated ones, you'll just be loss.
Without seeing some of your work, how can anyone guess what you are doing wrong or right?
you must learnt to walk before you can run you are a modern materialistic human you want it all now ready made in a tin called a computer it took me 5 years to learn how to plaster a wall correctly old artists painted on the fresh plastered wall they constructed because the paint sunk into the wet plaster and didn't sit on the top and flake away after a couple of years do you understand the dedication these things take they are not a money making whim they are a love and if you love it stay in there and laugh at computer war games you have a call of duty to yourself you can do it but you must want to
just start simple drawing and from there you can add little details
Keep trying .
IMO , it's a skill we either have or don't have .
Update: perhaps you guys are misunderstanding my question I know city's are not built overnight but I am looking for various techniques to better hoen the craft of sketching because the art book aproch is not working for me so in other words I am looking for alternative ways to learn how to draw because I have read drawing for absolute beginers all the way to keys to drawing
You start with doodling. You're teaching your hand and eyes to put down what you need to put down on paper. Everyone starts off like this, don't expect miracles.
