What happened to Google Earth addons and how do I get them?

I remember many, many years ago when there was a place withing the program that linked you to a store. Having not used the program in 7 years, I was surprised to see that it was gone. There was a mod to simulate flooding and 3D models of shipwrecks. Is there a modding community to replace this or does Google have this feature somewhere else?

Google has been downgrading and removing things in google earth for a while; however the "pro" version is now free rather than paid for.
Many of the things that were at one time only available in Earth are now part of the google maps website.
The google-run community site is closed but still available for reverence, with a new independent site set up by enthusiasts here:
